Oat Bran with Cinnamon Apples

Hearty and comforting oat bran cereal is a healthy breakfast that can be made in just 10 minutes. With simple, healthy ingredients this makes a great meal for young eaters!


  • 2/3 cup oat bran (I use Bob's Red Mill)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 large apple, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon lemon
  • 1-2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • pinch salt
  • spoon of greek yogurt or cottage cheese
  • optional: 2 tablespoons of brown sugar


  1. Cook the oat bran according to instructions.
  2. Toss cubed apples with lemon, cinnamon, and with optional brown sugar if using.
  3. Heat a saucepan to medium/low heat and add the apples. Cook them down as much as desired. I leave it for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  4. To serve: layer a bowl with the oat bran, cooked apples, and the greek yogurt.
  5. Eat and enjoy! This warm cereal is best fresh.
